May Villain - The Jester

As one of Captain Nepto's most famed adversaries, the Jester has been featured in several DFG comics throughout the years. In current continuity, the Jester is a prominent character in the "Invincibles" story line where due to a furtive manner he has assumed the Mayorship of Carnage City. Creator Darryl Andrews has said that he characterized the Jester as a cross between DC's Batman villians the Joker and the Riddler. "I wanted a prankster who was mean but not murderous like the Joker". Artist Todd Abbot claims to have created the Jester himself saying,"I created and based the Jester on Darryl's wise-cracking brother Mark". The Jester was introduced in the original Captain Nepto series in an expanded four issue appearance that was later re-edited into a two part story arc. The Jester learned Captain Nepto's secret identity by chance, as by sheer coincidence the two were neighbours in a Carnage City high rise. An unpublished story has the Jester blackmailing Nepto into retirement to protect his secret identity. The Jester poses no physical threat often equipping himself with a few bombs and a dagger. Of late, though no explanation has been given, the Jester has assumed control over Captain Nepto villian the Mummy to protect his physical weakness from Captain Nepto.
